If this machine is on a minimum of twelve hours daily you will use four hundred and fifty five kilowatts of power a day on this one system. Think what that means if you have a few of them placed around your home.

A larger swamp cooler motor with two hundred and thirty volts will operate more efficiently and use slightly less power, about four hundred and forty seven kilowatts daily for the same number of hours. This is a consideration when you are looking for the right swamp cooler and deciding which system makes sense for your home, store, workshop or office.

The average home model has a small swamp cooler motor, a one eighth to one quarter horse power and costs between one hundred fifty and two hundred and fifty dollars. There are more expensive models depending on what they offer. If you need a really large one for a workspace, a store, or small warehouse, a one horsepower engine can cool eight thousand two hundred cubic feet, but the machine will cost two thousand five hundred dollars. The size of the motor affects the efficiency, the power cost and the cooler ability.
